Yoga, Meditation, and Mindful Journaling

  • Sheil Park 3505 North Southport Avenue Chicago, IL, 60657 United States (map)

Our guests will be guided through a crystal bowl sound meditation to assist with reducing feelings of tension, and anxiety, and to create the space needed for self-compassion. Our guests will also learn, Mindful journaling, which is a type of doodling that is done with the intention of being present, in the moment, and focusing on the act of drawing. It is a way to relax and de-stress, and there are no rules or restrictions, and most importantly, mistakes - just let your creativity flow! Lastly, our guests will also be taken through a yoga practice so you can leave feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. Yoga can improve physical health, mental health, and overall well-being. It can also help to reduce stress, pain relief, and increased energy. Yoga also helps children to learn how to focus their attention, develop their body awareness, develop self-esteem, and social skills.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn these practices that you and your children can take home with you! Capital One Café is offering all guests free swag bags that have a journal and a tumbler included so all guests leave with a gift!

Evelyn Luviano (ella/her/they) believes harmony and well-being are our human birthright. Her own journey with meditation and yoga began in 2016 and through various trainings (such as, but not limited to, intensive Vipassana Meditation and Sound Healing Coursework through Ahimsa School of Sound Healing) as well as personal practice, discovered how transformative these practices and healing modalities can be.

From donation-based meditation offerings for Chicago Public School educators to trauma survivors to non-profit organizations that champion the uplifting and empowerment of under-served voices, such as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), peace-building ministries to donation-based community healing offerings, she strives to make herself available to co-create a safe space in which we can all process trauma, foster deep connections, strengthen relationships, and contribute to building our focus and resilience in order to face all of life with loving discernment in thought, speech, and action. Her purpose with sound and meditation offerings is to reduce suffering and to be of service to our collective healing.
